OPEN CALL: Residency at Leipzig International Art Program

Konstforum i Skåne and Region Skåne, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut and Leipzig International Art Program (LIA), are inviting one Skåne-based professional artist to a three-month residency program in Leipzig (DE).

“At LIA, we believe that moving outside of our comfort zone leads to new perspectives opening up. International visual artists working together with professional musicians, public space and institutions like museums fits perfectly into this philosophy and this type of collaboration leads to new approaches being developed and new kinds of artistic exchanges taking place” - Anna-Louise Rolland, founder LIA

Frequently asked questions

The FAQ will be updated continuously

Who can apply for the residency?
The residency is open for professional artists across all mediums based in Skåne. We are referencing The Swedish Arts Grants Committee's criteria for defining a professional artist. They define it as follows: "You must be a professional artist in the field of visual arts. To be considered a professional artist, you must earn a living entirely or partly from your artistic activities and regularly present your art to an audience or in an artistic context."

Who is on the residency jury?
The jury consists of representatives from the LIA program and the Goethe Institut, the Konstforum i Skåne team will not be involved in the decision process.

Will there be any economic compensation?
Currently, there is a compensation of 750€, to cover travel and other living costs. We strongly recommend the nominated artist to apply for International exchanges and travel grants from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee. Read more about it here. If any changes regarding this question occur we will update

How is the accessibility of the space ?
The Spinnerei is located in a 19th-century unchanged environment with train tracks and rough terrains. There is a lift, however, the lift, the bathrooms and the hallways of the Spinnerei are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Crutches or walking sticks should be ok. We recommend reaching out to LIA for any specific questions or needs.
